Arrange an Irving home visit with the right regional team
Lifeway publishes an Irving stairlift page and its current regional contact is in Dallas. Ascend’s site names Irving and lists its business address in Carrollton. Next Day Access includes Irving in its Central Dallas territory. Use these as starting points for a measured proposal, then confirm which office handles the exact property. If you want to try a chair first, request an appointment and ask whether the proposed model is available to demonstrate. A city service page does not establish a local display room or reserve equipment.
Prepare photographs that show both ends of the staircase, each turn and the doors opening onto the landings. Explain the destination: reaching a bedroom, bathroom or another level may involve more than the flight visible in one photo. Ask the assessor to describe the complete route, including where the chair stops and parks. If someone else is helping arrange the project, make sure the rider’s requirements reach the person writing the specification. Keep the same photos and description for each quotation so the comparisons remain meaningful.

Lifeway’s Irving information describes used and rental options, and Next Day Access publishes stairlift purchase and rental enquiries. Ascend also expressly limits its rental offer to straight staircases. Ask whether the actual staircase and required features fit the equipment being offered. The initial conversation should distinguish a new purchase, a used unit and a temporary contract. For each proposal, request the chair model, rail configuration, installation charge and any essential extras. Do not count a proposed fitting date as confirmed until the business has completed the necessary assessment and agreed the order.
For a rental, write down the minimum commitment, recurring rate, extension terms and collection cost. Ask who maintains the unit and what happens if a repair is needed during the rental period. For a purchase, separate manufacturer cover from the installer’s labor and travel terms. If removal or buyback is discussed, request the conditions rather than assuming a future resale value. The useful comparison is the money and responsibilities attached to the same access solution, including work another trade must perform before installation.

Irving’s current Home Rehabilitation page carries a notice that applications are temporarily stopped effective February 2; the notice does not identify a year. The page describes partially forgivable repair loans and a Homeowner Accessibility Program with examples including ramps, wider doorways and bathroom changes. Those descriptions are not an open stairlift grant offer. Contact Housing & Redevelopment to establish whether intake has changed and whether the particular project can be considered before making an assistance-dependent equipment order.
If an application is already on file, use the City’s existing-application status route. Its instructions warn that submitting a duplicate can delay processing. Ask the program team what information is outstanding and whether any proposed private work affects the application. Keep the commercial estimate separate from the program decision: the installer can describe the equipment, while the administrator determines assistance eligibility and scope. Request current written instructions for the next step and do not assume a seller’s finance agreement replaces the City’s approval process.
Irving: Home Rehabilitation Programs ↗Settle preparation, approvals and handover before installation
Irving’s residential guidance provides a route to ask Inspections about the proposed work. Give the installer responsibility for identifying the preparation needed at the property, and agree who will confirm applicable requirements with the City. Describe the complete project, including any electrical or structural work proposed alongside the lift. A generic statement that a stairlift fits to a staircase does not settle every part of a specific installation. Ask that excluded work and its scheduling dependencies appear in the proposal.
Before committing, identify who measures, orders, fits and services the equipment. Agree how changes discovered during the survey affect the price, and which decisions must be settled before equipment is ordered. At handover, request the operating information for the exact model, a demonstration of its functions and the service contact. Ask the installer to explain routine care and the procedure for reporting a fault. If the family contact lives elsewhere, keep the installation record, warranty and contact details accessible to the household using the lift.
